Wonderbook the Illustrated Guide to Creating Imaginative Fiction

by Jeff Vandermeer

If you’re looking for inspiration, motivation and tips all in one book… you’ll definitely want to add this to your collection. Wonderbook is easily my favourite book for writers.

The list price is on the higher end, but it’s worth every penny (in my opinion). Amazon often puts it on sale, too. So if you’re tight on cash, just add it to your Wishlist because Amazon will notify you when the price drops.

Honestly, sometimes I just flip through this book to look at the art. The art, in itself, is inspiring and gets me my creative juices flowing. That’s actually the purpose of it. The whole design of the book is intentionally designed to mix visual with super useful information.

Wonderbook really covers it all, too, from world building to revisions and everything in between.  It’s laid out well and is easy to understand. It is also easily the most unique book for writers I’ve ever encountered.

Has anyone else purchased or used this book? What are your thoughts on it. Feel free to ask questions, but remember… I can tell you personal opinions, content covered and overall thoughts… I can’t give you specifics or screenshots. That would infringe on the author’s rights and we certainly wouldn’t want to do that. The idea for this discussion is just to bring great books to light if you’re in the market for excellent books about writing.  Looking forward to your comments & questions!
