The Wane of Winter

The daylight hours now grow longer
Longer shines the sun so bright
Bright days as winter says goodbye
Goodbye we say with sheer delight

The winter thaw we wish now hastens
Hastens to us with gay abandon
Abandon the cold send it away
Away somewhere to set upon

And with the thaw we give rejoice
Rejoice the dawn the start of days
Days we spend as we see fit
Fit for life in so many ways
