I love the spirit and excitement these boys have for the car, and the “Back to the Future” reference delights me. I have brothers and nephews who would totally talk like this, and get uber excited about the whole car deal. They work on cars, and also collect and restore the models they love. Very energetic and exciting piece, Marcia!

Nits:
-I would add a lot more commas, but that’s just me…lol
-“the ladies (Avoid double quotes within quotes. Single quote ladies, or italicize, possibly?)

Great job!

Thank you so much Becky! I’m delighted you liked it! It was a lot of fun to write. I appreciate the nits as well and will definitely make the change you suggested. But as for commas, I’m sometimes concerned that I insert too many so I guess I erred in the opposite direction. LOL

Hi Marcia,

What a fun read. I really enjoyed the fast paced journey this story had, even though, I’m sorry to say, if it was a bit short. LOL

My daughter and I just watched the BTTF trilogy (her for the first time), and she loved it. Her favorite was the first one. Great memories here- but a question. Wasn’t it 88mph that the flux capacitor kicked in?

Well done bit of writing, and a wonderful tribute to a great set of movies.

Oh thanks Tim! I imagine BTTF was super fun to watch with your daughter for the first time. Yes, you are right about it being short but there was a 500 word limit on this prompt. And yes, it was 88 mph in the movie, but I wanted to change it somewhat for my story. (It’s funny but my hubby said the same thing when I read it to him! ) Thanks for your comments and the read, appreciate it!

Good morning, Marcia

Enjoyed the read. The humor, the interaction between friends was spot on. You captured the initial awe followed by Jered’s and Josh’s interaction as to who should drive the car. Well done.

Two observations:
the ladies.(,)”
It looks just (like) the movie!”

Take care and stay safe,

Thanks for the read & I’m so glad you enjoyed it. I also appreciate you pointing out my boo-boos. I want to improve so I always appreciate folks showing me the way. Hope I can change them on site. Thanks again Ray!

A nice, fun piece to read. But I felt cheated at the end; would love to see where the road trip takes them. Nice write.

I understand Charles about being cheated, but I got carried away at the beginning and then couldn’t go over my 500 words…LOL Maybe someday I explore the further adventures of Josh & Jered. I had fun writing it and I’m married to a car guy so it came pretty naturally. Thanks for your kind comments and the read, I really appreciate it!
