Already Broken

Why did you do that?

Why did you encourage me

to take off the filter?

You have no idea

the courage it took

out of survival

I opened my mouth

to combat

to defend

to prove a point

and the joke is on me

The demons jumped out

shadows are dancing

previous damage

doesn’t allow me

to rationalize

the fantasy

is not for me

your kindness

has blown me to bits

phantoms leap

memory lane is burning

I can’t sleep

the depth is churning

my fault

don’t worry

I’m already broken

Good afternoon, Becky

An emotional roller coaster to say the least. Love, or more precise, unconditional love, if not shared between partners can make for a tenuous relation.

Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

says:

The key is unconditional love, I think. When someone affects us so deeply it is easy to allow our ego to misconstrue that connection into thinking or wishing for something more. There is a higher ground to love. And I know this, and have experienced totally platonic friendships with men throughout my life, as I seem to gravitate more to men than women for friendship. This one played tricks with me and my mind was more vulnerable than usual. It’s all good. I regard him as a very good friend and would not want to lose that.

There’s no exception to the rule, everybody plays the fool. Sometimes.
Rock On.

“Everybody plays the fool…”
Oh-oh-oh, lovin’ eyes they cannot see
A certain person could never be
Love runs deeper than any ocean
You can cloud your mind with emotion

It SUCKS, dude!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahhaha!
Thanks, Charles. You are my voice of reason. lol

Hey Becky,

Ummm…Ouch. I read this, and my heart breaks. I know well, all too well, what it is to give your heart to another. Take the risks, and hope for the best reward. Then to find out the risks you took didn’t work out in your favor. That’s a pain that defies description, though many have tried. I think only a poet could come close. Like you did here.

Well done,

Tim

says:

Yeah, when it catches you unaware, so powerful, so dangerous, so hopeless… Sealed off tight, then opened up to a moment that completely shatters you. The human experience is quite painful, at times. Thank you, Tim. I know you understand what I’m talking about. 🙂
